- What's a good Halloween costume for 2 dogs looking for homes?
Hi there. So I volunteer with a no kill shelter that always attends a halloween function. This year I'm taking a pair of Chihuahua mix sisters who have been with us for over a year. Very sweet, friendly, and lovable dogs, unfortunately for them adult brown chi's just aren't in demand here. :( I want to dress them up in something unique and eye catching. I prefer NOT to buy premade dog costumes from the store and solely use that. I don't mind buying bits of the costume and throwing them together, though. For example, previous years I took a Cocker Spaniel and made him a pirate by buying the eyepatch/sword set from the dollar tree and used an old dracula cape as his pants. Another year I took a rottie mix and made him zorro by buying the fake sword and old black shirt for his top. I took a boxer and made him a cowboy by buying his cowboy hat, a cowboy set (gun, spurrs, etc) from walmart, and bought his bandanna from walgreens. Any ideas out there from anyone for these two chi sisters? I want them to be a pair.. something that goes together. Minus ketchup & mustard since there's always a ketchup and mustard. lol. I had my heart set on a bo beep & sheep but that's pretty much impossible, come to find.
A Why is Bo Peep and sheep impossible? You could dress up as Bo Peep and make sheep costumes for the dogs. Get two inexpensive hooded sweatshirts made for small dogs like Chihuahuas. Use a hot glue gun and glue cotton balls all over the front back and hood of the sweatshirt. Make two black triangles out of felt and glue them on the hood for ears.
